  • Filipino traders are seeking more structured technical education as volatile crypto markets expose gaps in risk management and trading discipline
  • Global Miranda Miner Group launched a Crypto Technical Analyst Executive Course with support from Philippine Digital Asset Exchange to strengthen technical analysis and disciplined trading
  • The program will expand beyond Metro Manila after its inaugural batch drew participants from multiple professions and a second run is set for July

Persistent volatility in cryptocurrency markets is fueling demand for structured trading education among Filipino investors, as market participants grapple with sharp price swings and heightened risk, according to Global Miranda Miner Group (GMMG).

The crypto education provider has launched its Crypto Technical Analyst executive course in partnership with the Philippine Digital Asset Exchange (PDAX), aiming to strengthen participants’ technical analysis capabilities, improve risk management, and promote disciplined trading practices in an increasingly unpredictable market environment.

Why it matters

The initiative comes as cryptocurrencies continue to experience significant price fluctuations that have caught many retail traders off guard. Bitcoin has lost more than half of its value from its previous peak and recorded steep sell-offs this year, including a sharp intraday decline in February and widespread liquidations in May, underscoring the risks facing investors.

“Volatility frequently shocks the community. Filipino investors and traders need to understand that crypto markets are not just about price prediction. They require a solid grasp of support and resistance levels, risk-reward balance, and how to manage exposure under fast-changing conditions, as well as the ability to recognize risks unique to each digital asset,” Global Miranda Miner Group CEO Arlone Abello said in a press statement.

Despite the turbulence, the Philippines remains among the world’s most active cryptocurrency markets, with an estimated 22 to 23 percent of the population owning digital assets, highlighting the need for stronger investor education.

The big picture

Abello said many traders enter the market during bullish periods but struggle when prices reverse because of limited technical knowledge and emotionally driven decision-making.

“Beginners and experienced traders should understand that crypto success depends on risk appetite and time tolerance. Our mission in launching the executive course is to educate traders before they trade,” Abello said.

The course is based on GMMG’s proprietary FEAST Trading System and covers technical analysis, market psychology, portfolio risk management, and trading execution through classroom instruction and hands-on mentorship.

Participants also learn about regulated investment options, including Retail Treasury Bonds available through PDAX, alongside discussions on digital assets.
The inaugural session, hosted at the PDAX office in Pasig City, graduated 30 participants from professions including law enforcement, healthcare, engineering, law, entrepreneurship, maritime, and recent university graduates.
GMMG has scheduled a second batch on July 11 to 12 and plans to expand the program to Cebu, Davao, and Baguio later this year. —Vanessa Hidalgo| Ed: Corrie S. Narisma
